Trek Mount Kenya
Kenya Barely 25 km from the equator lies a twin peaked mountain that pierces the African sky. Called Batian and Nelion, together they make up the massif of Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. In a valley filled with strange and exotic plants that grow to incredible sizes, Mount Kenya stands majestic and tall. Split by the diamond glacier, the two peaks stare across the African plains from an altitude of 5199m. To reach the peaks of Nelion and Batian requires a technical climb from her base to summit of about 300m. Mount Kenya’s third highest peak, Point Lenana provides a challenging but less technical climb up moraine, glaciers and ridges to her 4995m frosty summit. We are offering treks to the summit of Point Lenana, for technical climbs to the summits of Nelion and Batian please contact us. Area: Kenya Altitude: 4995m Duration: 8 Days Grade: 4 |
