Lodge Safari - addon

This is an example of a Tanzanian lodge safari that is 4 days duration and is ideal as an add on to Kilimanjaro afterwards or as a holiday destination in itself.

You also have the option of a camping safari which follows the same schedule.

Day 1: To Lake Manyara.
Pick up at your hotel after breakfast, and transfer to Lake Manyara for full day safari with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Hotel.

[Animals to see; Gazelles; impala; buffalo; wildebeest; the famous tree climbing lion; hyena; baboon; giraffe; hippopotamus; and a great number of smaller mammals; 350 species of bird, storks and flamingoes].

Day 2: To Serengeti.
Transfer to Seronera in the middle of the Serengeti. Picnic lunch and wildlife observation on the way. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge.

[Making a game driving on the Serengeti plains, searching for the migration. Large herds of antelope of all sorts including: Patterson's eland, Klipspringer, Dikdik, impala, Zebra, gazelles, water, bush and reed buck, topi, kongoni, cotton's oribi, grey bush duiker, roan antelope buffalo, and wildebeest. Plus: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, bat eared fox, hunting dog and jackal].

Day 3: Serengeti. To Ngorongoro.
Morning safari in the Serengeti. Afternoon transfer to the Ngorongoro for overnight on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge.

[The Crater is sometimes visited by the Masaai with their cattle who are capable of co-existing and sharing the rich grazing with the wild animals. Young Masaai warriors - Moran - escort their herds and protect them from lions and leopards, which, in the olden days, they had to kill in order to prove their manhood. There are 25,000 larger animals within the crater itself, mostly Zebra and wildebeest. However, this is undoubtedly the best place to see black rhino in Tanzania as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-maned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of other water birds around the soda lake on the crater floor. Other game: leopard, cheetah, hyena, elephants, warthog, impala, buffalo, hartebeest, eland and lots of other members of the antelope family and smaller mammals of sorts].

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater. To Moshi.
Descend into the crater for full day wildlife viewing with picnic lunch on the crater floor. In the late afternoon transfer back to Arusha or Moshi. End of tour.
