North Pole - Ski the Last Degree.
24 hours of darkness in winter and 24 hours of sunshine in Summer, the North Pole is a one of the 3 poles, along with Everest. This moving sheet of ice that can be frequented by polar bears and pressure ridges, is a great challenge. We offer the last degree, 10 days of sled hauling. We use helicopters and ski planes to get to 89 degrees North and we are collected from the ever-drifting imaginary North Pole. We take satellite phones and you are required to be fit and adventurous. We search for routes around open leads of water and camp on multi-year pans of ice. The season is April, and only attainable during a short 'window' of time. With global warming we don't know for how long the ice will be in condition. Join us for this wild experience. Area : Arctic Altitude : 0m Duration : 21 days Grade : 7 |
