Mt Elbrus Caucasus
The next best trip after Kilimanjaro. ELBRUS - In the south-eastern corner of Europe, a range
of mountains stretches between the Black and the Caspian sea. Known as the Caucasus, they are
topped by one of the world’s most beautiful volcanoes, Mount Elbrus. At 5642m, Elbrus is Europe’s
highest mountain, but it is also one of the world’s "seven summits". A journey to Elbrus is not
only a mountain adventure, it is a trip through time where the mysteriousness of Russian history
can be experienced alongside the richness of its mountains and valleys.
Climbing Elbrus has the same physiological affects as climbing Kilimanjaro, except it is all ice and snow. The ascent is not technical and difficulties are normally altitude related. Being mostly snow however, Elbrus can be quite cold necessitating warm gear, and the use of ice axe and crampons. Contact us for more details and dates.
