The Kili trip was an absolute blast for Jayson and myself. I enjoyed the views on the
Machame route and that extra day made a huge difference. The toilet tent was also a big
improvement. Stanley the main guide was really really good and I would recommend him to
anyone else doing the trip. He was well organised, spoke good English and was knowledgeable...
and most importantly got us all to the summit.
Thank you for making our trip a memorable one - we appreciated it. Regards Ray Funnell Johannesburg Hi Jenny I just wanted to thank you for everything you an Sean did for us. I had the most amazing journey. I loved every minute of it. Heinrich was very good to us (couldn't have been easy with 10 women on a mountain!). Also thank you for bringing the gift bag to the airport that was very nice of you to do that, sorry couldn't chat for longer, my family was pulling me out of there. I hope to keep in touch with you and maybe do some further adventures with you guys in the future. Regards Ilana Miller Florida Hi Sean From Shannon and myself, thank you again for a superb experience. The mountains are always an elixir for the soul and this trip was no different. What stood out for me was the amazing camaraderie in the group and the energy brought in by the Dugga boys especially. Best regards Dr Adri Kok Bedfordview, South Africa Hi Jenny I just wanted to thank you from the White River crowd. We had an outstanding experience; loads of fun and excitement and none of it would have been possible without the flawless logistical arrangements which you managed so well. Many thanks to you! Very kind regards Peter Warrener HR Director Netcare Thanks Sean Elbrus was absolutely amazing. We had a really enjoyable time on the mountain. Everything was excellent, the meals, the hotel and the guide, Anna. The barrels weren't too bad either. Robby was also very helpful with some great advice on how to go about things during the trek up the mountain. Already thinking about Aconcagua!! Regards Wayne Stuurman Teacher - ST PETERS SCHOOL JHB Hi Sean A quick note to say well done to you and your team on an excellent adventure. Heinrich was superb and Rajab and his team unbelievable - thank you. Thanks again for sorthing the Clifton School group (Durban). Regards Robin Read CA (SA) Director Hi Sean. After an amazing trip to kili 18-24 october, i just want to thank you guys for making it such a pleasant experience for us. Despite ending in hospital with HAPE, this was truly the most exciting thing i have done in my life! We as a group were very impressed with ADI, KCB and the individuals that took us up the mountain. please find the letter of recommendation that attached to this document, and forward it to the appropriate people. thanks for a amazing trip. Dr Johan La Grange Thanks Dude! It was amazing! (Kilimanjaro) Marco Broccardo MD Euronet Hi Sean! Funny I was just looking for your email address! All 15 made it can you believe! we ended up taking the direct route and not going via Mawenzi Tarn because there was no water. So we summitted during the day and did it in 6 days instead. I now understand why people say Umbwe is harder because in comparison Rongai was a breeze! That said I'd have picked Umbwe again every time, the views make up for the work effort and I think had I known how to deal with the altitude sickness the first time round I'd have been able to summit. I will never understand the push for night time summits because the disorientation that accompanies it is awful. I lost count of the number of times I heard people say "Sean said" so not only did they enjoy it but the perspective and info was invaluable! Kind regards, Lisa Roos iiNet Hi Jenny and Sean Just to say A BIG THANK YOU to all involved in making our kili experience such an awesome success. We are already planning our next adventure. Thanks DR SUMAYYA EBRAHIM Parklane Clinic Jhb Hi Jenny, Forgive me for not responding sooner!!! I am just back in florida now and am still 'reliving' the Kilimanjaro expedition!!! What a fabulous trip --- I want to bring both my kids next time --- I will do it again!!! Thanks to Sean for a wonderful trip and thx for all your help!!! Kim Ackerman Florida USA Thank you Jenny, I really enjoyed every moment (well almost every moment!) Thank you for organizing such a super support team for us. They were all great and looked after us unbelievable well especially Rajab, Matthew and David. Thanks again, Anna Hendricks Johannesburg Dear Sean On behalf of Mike and myself I want to that you so much for the amazing experience we shared doing the Everest North Side Base Camp and Advanced Base Camp trek. It was definitely an experience that we will treasure forever. Also thank you so much for taking care of Lance and bringing him home safely to us. Mike and I have not stopped talking to everyone about the time that we had - we will highly recommend Adventure Dynamics to anyone wanting to take on one of your trekking or climbing adventures. Thanks so much to Jenny for being in contact with me all the time during the Summit night and allowing me to call her at 3.30am in the morning!! Thanks also to Jenny for all her organisation with the bookings, airtickets etc Maybe Aconcagua next.......... Thanks again Kindest Regards Viv Metz Restonic Beds Dear Sean My first day back at work and the first thing I want to do is to thank you for one of the most amazing experiences of my life to Aconcagua! Thank you for all the arrangement, the amazingly well organized expedition, the best guides, the biltong and chocolate on the mountain, the laughs around the table and best of all, the humble manner in which you purveyed your knowledge about mountains, safety and just life in general. I am fortunate to have met you and I hope it is not the very last mountain we will do together. I am humbled by the entire experience Sean-thank you for that. Please also thank behind the scenes Jenny-which you gave so much credit for on the mountain- and although I have never met her, she must be extremely precise and organized to have been able to put such and expedition together without a single glitch! Please send my regards to all the others should you speak to them. Anette Grobler Student Development Practitioner Cape Peninsual University of Technology Hi Jenny I just wanted to thank you for organising our Kili trip 10 - 15 Oct. It was AWESOME!! What an amazing experience. We were well looked after on the mountain, and would appreciate it if you could also forward our thanks to Justice. Our head guide, Justice, was fantastic. It was clearly evident that he'd had much experience on the mnt. His geological and botanical knowledge of the area was extensive. He was constantly aware of how we were coping, and paced us accordingly. His timing and weather predictions were spot-on. Geoffrey, the assistant guide, was quiet but the 2 of them worked cohesively as a team. Vitalis' smile (the waiter) was always a pleasure at mealtimes. And last but not least: Complements to the chef ! The food was superb. We will definitely recommend ADI to our friends. Thanks Lynn Wolfswinkel PS : Thank you Justice, I would not have made it to Uhuru without you! Hi Jenny, Just back from Tanzania. Had a fantastic time. Kili was incredible. We suffered a bit from the altitude but nothing too drastic. Sarah and I both would like to say how fantastic our guide, Nestor and the porters were. They made us feel like royalty. The food was lovely, although we did lose our appetites. And they were always smiling and friendly. I in particular do not think I would have made it to the summit without Nestor. I felt like giving up three quarters of the way up on summit night and he was very patient and kind and helped me the rest of the way. So am very grateful to him and would thoroughly recommend him and his team. Was very ready for the beach at Zanzibar afterwards! Everest base camp next!! Best wishes and thank you for all your help, Jody East Hi Sean A quick note to say well done to you and your team on an excellent adventure. Heinrich was superb and Rajab and his team unbelievable - thank you from Clifton School, Durban! Thanks again. Regards Robin Dear Tony and Sean, I followed the site with great interest while you guys were on the Volcano. I'm in Germany for a few days with my wife. I wanted to say that Kilimanjaro was definitely one of the most amazing experiences I've done to date. I will definitely be planning to sign on for other events led by you two. Please remember that you guys always have a place in Oman. I will be back home on Sunday, and will courier the photos then. Best Regards Usama UAE We are living on one memory after the next after such an awesome experience!! Hope your final mountain climb was a good challenge and you weren't too tired!! We got to our farm and literally passed out for 3 days!! Thanks for your energy, your input, your wisdom and experience in putting together the journey of a lifetime!! Our family will never forget it! We all "grew" in many different ways and being back in Cape Town, we are now able to absorb what we achieved. Thank you!! See you soon. Love, Margie Van Rensburg Dear Sean Disney! I am writing on my own behalf and on behalf of my entourage, to thank you immensely and to express my sincere gratitude for organizing our participation in the expedition. We had a good experience on our trip. Although, we highly appreciate your efforts to arrange everything well, from the perfect accommodations before and after the climb to the coordination of the porters and cooks on the climb. Sincerely, President Huseyngulu Baghirov, Air and Extreme Sports, Azerbaijan Hello Jenny, Climbing was a good life experience, but it was tough as well. We both enjoyed the bigger experience, though there were some aspects that were less appealing, like the toilets. We realize it is a mountain though and to be expected. The guide and crew we had were brilliant and really looked after us well. Justice was our chief guide and he was really excellent. Very caring and attentive and he made sure things happened. He checked on us frequently and was very aware of us at all times. The food on the mountain was absolutely superb - better than at the hotel ! Tasteful and well presented. Just too much for us two small people - we ate ourselves silly. They really did well - polished our boots etc etc. We can certainly recommend Justice and his crew. Kind regards, Miriam Sports Science Institute, Cape Town Hi Jenny and Sean, We all summitted and had a great time. Thanks for all your help and organization. We have some more detailed feedback which we will give you in due course, but we all had a fantastic time and are very happy that we made it. Thanks again, Craig Hallowes The Pangbourne Group Hi Jenny We are back from our "African Adventure". As you probably know by now the entire group summited (evidence attached for Jonah and I). Thanks for organizing our trip. We were thrilled with everything. Vincent and Matthew were amazing guides and the kindest friendliest people. The other 5 people in our party were great fun. I've already highly recommended your excellent service to others thinking of climbing and I wish you good luck in what must be a tough business. Regards, Johann Potgieter Australia Hi Jenny and Sean, I just wanted to say thank you for the experience, I really enjoyed myself fully and was impressed with all aspects of the trip. I will definitely use ADI in my future mountaineering plans. Regards, Riaan van Jaarsveld Johannesburg Hi Sean Just a short note to say THANK YOU for an unforgettable adventure to Elbrus, it was great and also a great group of people. Please also say thank you to Jenny for making the arrangements. Enjoy your weekend. Henk Myburgh, Johannesburg Hi Jen Just a short note, to say thank you for all your help in organising my side of the trip at such short notice with such great efficiency, i really appreciate it..... I really had a fabulous time with a wonderful group of people. Brenton David Booth Absa Bank Ltd Dear Sean/Jenny, I would like to thank both of you for the absolutely unforgettable experience we had this past weekend during our hike in the Drakensberg. In a society and environment where the focus on customer relationship and satisfaction has long left the building, I was delighted with the way in which I was treated as client and a mountaineering novice. From the time of my initial query, to the time we returned home after our expedition. The enthusiasm and capabilities of Sean and the guides to provide each participant with an authentic experience, is what spurred us on as a group to make the most of it. The fact that we had a person of Sean's caliber accompany us on what should be considered to be a relatively easy and entry-level hike, shows that ADI still places an exceptionally high priority on customer relations and satisfaction. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with ADI. Hey, who knows - today The Sentinel, next year Everest! Yours truly, Jill Belconis (YPO Chicago) Chair, YPO-WPO International Events Committee Sean, Thanks again for a great climb of Mera! Yes, we're back safe and sound. Good hotel and very beautiful mountains! I hope the paragliding was good - looks like an amazing area for it! David Seabrook Namaste everybody! Total culture shock to be back... I’m having serious altitude withdrawal symptoms (and is making secret plans to open a fruit stall in Kathmandu). Well done and thanks to Sean and Jenny for making this possible – Base Camp trek was a superb experience and one that I would heartily recommend to anybody with a spark of adventure in them. And to my comrades in arms: I don’t think I could have wished for a greater group of people to have shared this with. Thanks for making it unforgettable! See you all on the Annapurna base camp trek next year? Love, Jani Verster Dear Sean / Jenny, Kili was an amazing experience and one I shall never forget – Harold (head guide) was outstanding – very professional, very caring, and made you feel in safe hands. The food was also very good and the right type of diet for our physical needs. Thanks again. Kind rgds Richard Hilton Hi Jenny & Sean We would like to say Thank You very much for all the planning & arrangements for our honeymoon to Peru. We had a great time with the Andina Travel team. They treated us like royalty. This was truely a trip that we'll never forget. We've attached a couple photos from the wedding & Machu Picchu. Kindest regards Ferdi & Talita de Lange Hi Sean Thanks again for an unbelievably awesome trip to Carstensz Pyramid. Predictably, the depression associated with a return to my office desk has set in, but I have learnt that the only way to deal with my addiction to this sport is to start planning the next one. Regards Mandy Ramsden - Standard Bank Hi Jenny. I am just getting my breath back now. Debbie and I had the most wonderful time. Yes we both summated (Kilimanjaro). I will also phone you when I get to work on Monday but briefly. It was the best time both of us have ever had. Yes it was not easy. The service and the treatment we got was fanstastic. In fact there are no words to describe how well we were treated and what fun we had with the guide, Azizi and his merry men. We have nothing to complain about. The food , the careing was out of this world. Infact the guys made it possible for us to summit and to enjoy just everything. The vibe was magic. We could not thank them enough. Thanks for arranging it all for us. Will chat to you on Monday sometime. Please would you relay to Azizi and his guys just how much we enjoyed everything. You have a very good team up there. Please look after them. We will definately recommend them to anyone without hesitation Chat soon Carol Good morning Sean, The trip went smoothly and we all made it to Uhuru peak, so we couldn't be happier! Thanks for everything, Simon Dear ADI Thanks for your message. Indeed all went well on our trip and I'm sure you know that we all made it to the top. The logistics were great and I have only praise for the guides and porters. All in all a very worthwhile experience. Regards Dennis Hi Jenny Thanks, it was an awesome experience that everyone should experience once in their lifetime (Kilimanjaro) ! The guides looked after us very well and I would definitely recommend Adventure Dynamics to anyone I meet, considering Kili. I think we were fortunate to have two really good guides and an amazing cook. Zawadi was our main guide and Abagasi his right hand man. Both did a sterling job and chose a brilliant route for us, although not convinced at first we were all very happy that they talked us into the Arrow glacier/Western Breech route - it was a lot quieter, shorter, and more challenging - there was also no opt out once you started the final accent - and all 12 of us made it ! I probably battled the most (although everyone seemed to have been affected in some way), but I really battled to breathe and had to literally stop every ten or so steps to catch my breathe, as we approached the crater rim and from there to the peak (strangely until then I was absolutely fine). I could feel that my lungs had contracted and was coughing up clear phlegm, on examination on return to London I was told that I had HAPE and that the tissue around my lungs still had excessive fluid and my blood pressure up - which was excellent news as now all my adventure stories are much more dramatic - hehe But I would just like to give Abagasi a special mention here, as he really did help me a lot on the accent day, including carrying my day pack down the mountain - he's a really special guy who definitely formed a bound with most of us. Zawadi was also very good and ran a very efficient and effective team, and ensured that we were happy throughout our adventure. Thanks for your advice on the equipment, we followed your list and advice and used everything we brought, and found we were perfectly kitted out. Anyway thanks again for a great adventure, and attached is a pic I took on route to the mountain Day 1 which shows how awesome Kilimanjaro is. Now keen to do your Mount Blanc adventure, maybe in a year or two Regards Chris Read |
